Okay... soemone that knows about gaming pc's :
It has been 3 or 4 years since I have upgraded or built a gaming PC... so I need some advice here. I have a TON of Best Buy Certificate dollars to use come January... does Best Buy.com carry any PCs that are worth gaming with? I want a good machine with parts that I can upgrade when I want (unlike those e machines) and will run top notch newer games and the older ones.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Should I even bother? Or should I get TVs and suc hand sell em to use the money to build my own Viscious or Alienware?

I would strongly advise against buying a ready made machine, unless you can personlly talk to the seller and get specific items for your machine.. ie: A motherboard that suits gaming, 8x graphics capable, Lotsa Ram space, UNINTERGRATED anything... so on and so on. If you can shoot some links at what your planning on buysing, or what your looking at then we as the "tech junkies" can better help you buy somthing that will be good for both gaming, and capable of adding more power to it when needed. Post some links to to what your lookin at bro, well get ya on the right track. Kami

Well I took a look at the link you sent. the motherboard and processor are very good. One of the few that are using the 1 gig front side bus speed. For the Ram they have given plenty with it. Look like to see PC3200 instead of the PC2700 for that processor. The grafics card is not integrated and is using the new technolgy of PCI express which is very good. Where I see a problem in upgrading with that box is the motherboard and possibly the vid and sound cards is the form factor of the case. I think the computer its self is great just need to find it in a standard mid tower case.

now going away from the the case style you looked at here is a link to another PC that is slightly more the processor is slightly slower but not enough to make a difference and using the new technolgy with twin GEforce 6800GT PCI-E SLI vid cards www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16883102628

Cheaper to just buy the parts and build youre own than buy a whole system.
